Simple Halloween Nails: Pink Aura Halloween

For a subtle yet different type of Halloween nails

Today’s post (short) features a subtle Halloween look. Subtle because it is very simple and requires the use of one stamping design! The nails feature the current 2023 nail trend: aura nails. Aura nails are when the center of the nails shows a round gradient, different compared to your usual gradient nails where it usually is a horizontal gradient. With the aura nails, it is important to show two colors, the one in the center and the one in the background, in some cases, people may use three or more which is stunning.

There are various techniques you can use, some contain an airbrush, some a regular make-up brush, and some a make-up sponge. I used the make-up sponge technique, except I just dabbed on the orange using the sponge rather than using both colors to shape the gradient. I find this the lazy gradient and the most tricky one because although it is less messy, it is harder to blend the gradient especially when the nail polish is more on the opaque side. I learned that with this technique you have to dab your sponge onto a paper towel first, especially when the color is kind of opaque like mine (it was a two-coater). It is also harder to maintain a center position as you have to make a circle. To make it Halloween I stamped on a “scary face” using a purple stamping polish on my ring finger.

The products used are as follows (brand name first and in bold):

  • Hema 223 Hot pink
  • Color Club Foxy Mama
  • :YOURS Loves Dee – Halloween Night (double sided stamping plate)
